In February 2023, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) launched a one-week online campaign against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) under the theme: “Partnership with Men and Boys to Transform Social and Gender Norms to End Female Genital Mutilation.”
The campaign highlighted the urgent need to engage men and boys as allies in the fight against harmful practices that rob girls of their dignity, health, and future. By fostering dialogue and raising awareness, OWED continues to champion the vision of a society where every girl can grow free from violence and harmful traditions.
Ending FGM is not the responsibility of women alone — it is a collective fight, and together we can break the circle.
