Fight against gender based violence

In Cameroon, like in most countries across the globe, violence against women and girls is a preoccupying reality. Such violations are sometimes caused by crises situations such as displacement, presence of state and non-state armed groups, economic hardship, and so on.
Examining data gives a different picture. Gender-based violence in Cameroon has been an existing reality prior to the crises, and occurs in areas where guns are silent.
Also, the privacy of the home is, as a matter of fact, the most dangerous place there is for many women. Intimate partner violence prevails as one of the most widespread forms of violence against women and girls.
OWED is here to help locals fight this horrible violence against women and the girl child.

Menstrual hygiene management

The crises in the north and south west regions of Cameroon coupled with the covid-19 pandemic has made life difficult for women and girls in these parts of the country. They have challenges accessing menstrua hygiene products and lack knowledge on proper menstrua hygiene management. OWED therefore has as main objective to sensitize women and girls on menstrual hygiene management and distribute menstrual hygiene kits to them.
