In February 2025, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) took another step toward strengthening its humanitarian response capacity as its Communications and Finance Officers participated in a training on Humanitarian Principles.
The training, organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), took place at the UN Common Compound in Upstation, Bamenda. It brought together key humanitarian actors and organizations operating within the region to deepen their understanding of the core humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.
Through this training, OWED’s representatives gained valuable insights into ethical and effective humanitarian practices, accountability, and coordination in crisis response. This capacity-building initiative reinforces OWED’s dedication to delivering compassionate, principled, and impactful support to vulnerable populations in crisis-affected communities.
