In February 2025, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) was proudly represented by its Programs Officer at a capacity-building training organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Cameroon in Limbe.
The workshop brought together Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) actors from the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon to strengthen their knowledge, coordination, and intervention strategies in addressing the psychological and emotional needs of crisis-affected populations.
Through this training, OWED deepened its understanding of community-based psychosocial support, trauma-informed care, and mental health programming in humanitarian contexts. The participation of OWED’s Programs Officer reaffirms the organization’s commitment to promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and resilience among vulnerable groups—particularly women, girls, and youth affected by conflict and displacement.
This experience further equips OWED to integrate psychosocial support into its ongoing humanitarian and development initiatives, ensuring that healing and hope remain at the heart of every intervention.
