In April 2024, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) made a meaningful contribution to the National Movement of Adolescent Girls and Young Women in Cameroon (NMAGYW) by donating disposable sanitary pads to support their ongoing project, “Her Wellness Community Outreach Initiative.”
This initiative focuses on bridging the information gap surrounding sexual and reproductive health as well as menstrual hygiene management among adolescent girls and young women. By supporting this project, OWED reinforced its commitment to promoting the dignity, health, and empowerment of girls across communities.
The donation was not only a gesture of solidarity but also a practical step toward ensuring that young women and girls have the necessary resources and knowledge to manage their menstrual health with confidence and pride.
Through partnerships like this, OWED continues to champion the cause of women and girls, advancing efforts toward achieving gender equality, improved health, and sustainable empowerment in Cameroon.
