OWED Celebrates the 38th Edition of International Women’s Day
In March 2023, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) proudly joined the world in celebrating the 38th edition of International Women’s Day under the global theme: “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.” This theme aligned with the focus of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67): “Innovation and technology change and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.”
At OWED, we recognize that access to technology and digital skills is no longer optional—women and girls need to thrive in today’s world. To mark this day, we organized training sessions designed to equip young girls with practical technology skills. These skills not only boost their confidence but also open doors to education.
By investing in innovation and technology for women and girls, we are breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes and ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital revolution. The celebration was more than just a commemoration—it was a call to action to bridge the gender digital divide and empower girls with the tools they need to shape their futures.
At OWED, we remain committed to creating opportunities for women and girls to learn, innovate, and lead, because we believe that when women rise in technology, entire communities rise with them.
