In October 2024, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) joined the world in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child under the inspiring theme, “Girls’ Vision for the Future.”
To mark the day, OWED engaged students in Bamenda in an interactive session on menstrual hygiene management, creating a safe space for girls to learn, ask questions, and share their experiences without fear or shame. As part of our commitment to promoting girls’ health and dignity, we also distributed sanitary pads to ensure that no girl misses school because of her period.
Through this celebration, OWED continues to amplify the voices of girls and champion their right to health, education, and empowerment — because when girls can dream freely, the future becomes brighter for all.
