OWED Empowers Women During International Women’s Day 2025 Celebration

In March 2025, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) joined the rest of the world to celebrate International Women’s Day under the global theme, “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment.”

To mark this important occasion, OWED organized an empowerment training for two female social groups comprising over 40 members in Bamenda II. During the training, participants acquired hands-on skills in the production of multipurpose liquid soap, Omo, and bleach, equipping them with valuable tools for self-reliance and income generation.

At the end of the program, each group received startup capital to support the sustainability of their businesses and strengthen their economic independence. This impactful initiative was funded by Alliance Française Bamenda, whose support made it possible for women to transform their skills into meaningful livelihoods.

Through this activity, OWED continues to advance its mission of empowering women and girls, promoting economic resilience, and creating opportunities that foster equality, dignity, and growth in communities across Cameroon.
