In December 2024, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) carried out a compassionate outreach at the Bamenda Central Prison, bringing hope, dignity, and encouragement to 62 vulnerable women. During this visit, the women received menstrual hygiene kits, a gesture aimed at promoting menstrual health and ensuring that every woman, regardless of her circumstances, maintains her self-worth and dignity.
This initiative was sponsored by Yvonne Shiri and friends, whose generosity made it possible to touch lives and uplift the spirits of women often forgotten by society. Through this act of kindness, OWED continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to supporting women and girls, promoting menstrual hygiene, and advocating for equal access to basic needs and opportunities.
At OWED, we believe that every woman deserves care, respect, and hope—no matter where she is.
