OWED Reaches Out to 100 Adolescent Girls on Menstrual Hygiene Day

In May 2024, as part of activities marking Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) joined the global campaign under the theme “Together for a Period-Friendly World.”

OWED embarked on a mission to reach out to 100 adolescent girls, providing them with essential support and education on menstrual hygiene management. The outreach aimed to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation by equipping girls with accurate information, confidence, and the resources they need to manage their periods with dignity.

During the session, OWED’s team engaged the girls in open discussions about menstrual health, self-care, and the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices. The atmosphere was filled with learning, laughter, and empowerment as the girls shared their experiences and asked questions freely.

This initiative reflects OWED’s ongoing commitment to promoting menstrual equity, empowering young girls, and building a society where menstruation is accepted, supported, and respected. Through such programs, OWED continues to foster awareness, confidence, and equality among adolescent girls across communities.
