In November 2023, the Organization for Women Empowerment and Development (OWED) joined UN Women, UNFPA, MINPROF, and other key partners in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) a global campaign dedicated to ending violence against women and girls everywhere.
The campaign provided a powerful platform to raise awareness, strengthen advocacy, and inspire action against all forms of gender-based violence. OWED participated in community sensitization activities, public dialogues, and solidarity actions that amplified the voices of survivors and reaffirmed the need for stronger protection systems and accountability.
Through its involvement, OWED reinforced its commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive society where women and girls can live free from fear, violence, and discrimination. The organization continues to stand in solidarity with all stakeholders working to break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and ensure that every woman and girl enjoys her right to safety, dignity, and equality.
